Matt Rayner won his first Cadet competition this weekend with an excellent score of 41 points. Matt played some very steady golf and when he did get in trouble his short game came to the rescue. The photo above shows his escape from the greenside bunker at the ninth.
A slightly fat tee shot at the tenth put him in another bunker but again he escaped to about 20ft and he 2 putted for a solid 4. The only hole he didn't score on was the 17th but with 22 points on the front nine he had a comfortable cushion and still managed 19 points on the back nine.
In second place was Elizabeth Clarke, who's highlight was a '5 pointer' on the ninth hole.Jack Smith was third and Nicholas Mounsey fourth.
Congratulations also go to Alice Clarke who played her first 18 hole competition. She was a little nervous to begin with but when she settled down played well and hit some very good shots.
Thanks to cadet helpers Paul Downey and Andrea Clarke a good day was had by all.
