Sportsman's Final 2012

Young Ben Wyatt beat the experienced Dave Seymour in the 36 hole final last Saturday at Southend Golf Club.
It was a very steady start for Ben, who plays off 8, as he only dropped 3 shots in the first 16 holes. This saw him with a 4 hole advantage and it looked like he was going to run away with it.
However 2 wayward shots on the 17th & 18th and the lead was cut to only 2 by lunchtime.
Seymour, playing off 12, was hoping to continue the improvement but lost the 1st to a par and could only watch as Ben rattled off par after par. By the time he eventually won a hole, the 9th, he was 5 down and pars at the next 3 holes gave Ben a 6 and 5 victory.
Dave congratulated Ben and thanked him for the friendly manner the game had been played in, the name of the trophy, Sportsman.
Congratulations to you from all the members that entered this competition, well done.
