Quality Street Results 06.02.11

Dave Buckley proved he had sufficient ballast to maintain his posture and balance in the blustery wind conditions of last Sunday. With the only exception being his tee shot at the fourth which he managed to hit in to the Greenkeeper's garden. Despite not scoring on this hole he still managed an outward half of 17 points and a very solid inward nine of 20. Highlights of the round were his tee shot into the teeth of the wind at the 7th where he hit the middle of the green with his Driver and duly two putted for three points. He looked as if he was struggling a little at the 14th after finding the trees twice but managed to chip in from 30 yards short of the green for another three points.

His tee shot at 16 was only a couple of yards short of the green , and he managed to put any thoughts of how he would spend the Eagles Nest money out of his head and concentrated on the shot in hand. A well played bump and run shot only just missed the hole and finished a meagre two feet away for a simple tap in three and another three points. For his superb endeavours he has now been cut to 10. Very well played Dave!

Secret Partners saw Tony James on 36 drawn with Vic Askew on 32 for victory by the slenderest of margins.

Hope to see you all next Sunday after the Valentines Disco; Aspirin will be available on the first tee.
